Client Testimonials

American Athlete Fitness, Strength and Training

This fitness community has allowed my body to recover and even flourish in the active life I am accustomed to.
Gary
  Seattle, WA

The day I moved to Seattle I joined this gym with the intention of continuing my active life. That was 18 years ago and I have consistently exercised ever since. Every other day I walk or jog the lake on my way to the gym and then go through my exercise program with the intention of continuing the positive effects it has on my body. You see, I have now survived cancer for fifty-one years (I may be one of the world's longest living survivor). I went through two bouts of early childhood cancer and came out on top. Starting as a teen I participated in a variety of sports and other activities because it was fun and because I could.

Two years after moving to Seattle I was diagnosed with a rare form of Pancreatic Cancer that was caught early. Still I had major surgery and was devastated. After an extensive treatment program and a debilitating recovery I made it back to the gym. Immediately, I was welcomed in and taken care of. The staffed helped me develop an exercise program that progressively gave me my strength back. I know now that I would not be where I am without the use of this gym.

This fitness community has allowed my body to recover and even flourish in the active life I am accustomed to. Doctors are pleasantly surprised by my current state of excellent health as a fifty-four year old man with the history I have. It is this level of performance that has also allowed me to deal with a recent diagnosis of diabetes. There is no way I could remain this active and regulate my blood sugar levels without a consistent fitness program.

Thank you to fitness and American Athlete at Greenlake Gym for giving me the tools I need to be successful.

Gary, 54
