Sean Senescall - Seattle Gym
American Athlete of the Month: May 2009
American Athlete at Greenlake is proud to have members like Sean Senescall as a part of our community of fitness. Over the last 2 months through hard work and dedication, Sean Senescall was able to display the strength, speed, agility, and overall fitness to become the overall winner of the Spring 2009 American Athlete Challenge. Sean Senescall
Sean Senescall has participated in sports throughout his life, including participating in the 800m and triple jump for the Air Force Academy in 2001-2002. How hard was it to prepare for the American Athlete Challenge? When asked, Sean responded "I had to relearn how to run, jump, and do bench press," exercises that he hadn't performed at a competitive level in a number of years. In the end he was able to conjure up enough of the old juices to take home the American Athlete Challenge Championship.
What's next? After speaking with Sean you can tell that he already has his sights set on defending the crown, "Now that I know what to expect I feel like I will do even better next time." When asked about the significance of his victory, Sean said "I really want to dedicate my sucess to the memory of my grandmother." Sean's grandmother Mary Senescall, a 20+ year member of our fitness community, passed away April 28th 2009. She was 88. Mary was a long-time member of the Dr James H Mathews Guild for Children's Orthopedics. We would like to say congratulations to Sean Senescall, American Athlete Challenge Champion and The American Athlete of the Month.
