Marshall and Scott - Seattle Gym
American Athlete - September 2009
Marshall and Scott started coming to the Club two years ago this November and over the last two years have used their focus on exercise to change not only their bodies but their entire life style. Both have been active their whole lives and growing up in Texas meant working hard and playing football. As adults they kept active and until 7 years ago when a family crisis hit they didn't really worry about staying fit. For Scott the crisis led to a large weight gain and high blood pressure while Marshall struggled with the expected effects of a more hypo kinetic life style and he developed acid reflux which took a toll.
Since working out they have both lost weight and put on muscle. Blood pressure is normal and besides looking amazing their new life style has eliminated an array of nagging problems including the acid reflux.
They accomplished these remarkable goals by starting slowly, consistently working out and working as a team. They research weight training routines and applied what they already know. They love the "Biggest Loser" and took motivating information from the show. This last year they

gradually started to modify their eating and implemented counting calories. This move has not only reduced the amount they eat but improved the value of what they do eat!
They are now looking at goals outside the gym maybe a marathon maybe the Seattle to Portland (STP)!
