bouts with childhood cancer, years later
Gary would diagnosed with a rare form of pancreatic cancer. Major surgery, extensive treatment and debilitating recovery wouldn't keep Gary from his commitment to fitness. A club member for 18 yrs now, Gary has consistently exercised with the intention of continuing the positive effects it has made on his body. Most recently Gary has been diagnosed with diabetes but insists "There is no way I could remain this active and regulate my blood sugar levels without a consistent fitness program."
Everyone here at American Athlete is proud that Gary is still winning his battles and would like to say congratulations to Gary, The American Athlete of the Month.
